For quite some time I could only make my own test setup work by adding a
symlink from ~/.Activities to /usr/share/activities .

Just tested with a symlink from /usr/share/sugar/activities and indeed 
it works. Super. Thanks a lot for this hint!!


I will make sure to update to install location and rebuild all activity 
packages.
