Thanks for reporting this.

Could you please try opening a terminal emulator (e.g. xterm), start 
sugar-emulator from there, and send us the output emitted to that 
terminal?

Also, try removing (or renaming) the folder ~/.sugar and afterwards 
start sugar-emulator again. That folder will then be recreated and 
contains (among other stuff) some logfiles that you can inspect for 
possible error messages.
