[Debian-olpc-devel] Running Debian on an XO

Hi Petter, and others with similar interests,

We looked at your XO-1 this weekend, and you decided to have it run
Debian instead of the OLPC-provided default Fedora spin.

In case you didn't find it yourself already, here is the guide that I
succesfuly followed:

http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Installing_Debian_as_an_upgrade

What was _not_ succesful - as you also verified saturday night - was the
"fast-tracking" using the "olpc-update debian" command. That command
seems broken (or rather, the ready-made Debian image that it rsyncs
seems broken). Also, I personally feel more comfortable using
debootstrap than trusting some unofficial mirrored result of a
debootstrap process.

Hope that helps,

   - Jonas
