James,

I agree with you in theory.... and in a few months we probably won't
be implementing changes like this in Debian or Ubuntu. But, at this
stage in the team development, establishing workflows, helping new
developers become familiar with Sugar, Debian, and Ubuntu processes,
and establishing credibility in the Ubuntu, Debian, and Sugar Labs
communities.

With the new developers being added via SEETA we are establishing a
learning/scaling method of 'see one', 'do one', 'teach one.' Right
now most of the Seeta developers are in the 'see one' phase. I hope
that over the new few weeks and months the seeta team will make it to
the 'teach one' phase where they are ready to help teach new community
members how to work effectively in this ecosystem.

In the meantime, we appreciate your and everyone else's patience. See
one, do one, teach one is a noisy process... and we are trying to
confine that noise to this ml and the the #ubuntu-sugarteam IRC
channel. If we are too noisy we can shift to other channels.

James, in the mean time.... We can use all the teachers we can get:)
If you have a few minutes free please review patches on this list,
stop by #ubuntu-sugarteam, or take a look at the bug list at
https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bugs?field.bug_supervisor=sugarteam
. All of these bugs will be assigned, triaged, and fixed (to include
pushing the fix as far upstream as possiable) over the next few weeks.

thanks
david
