This looks like a ppc64 specific bug in the linux-2.6 kernel package.
I will try to reproduce it and find a solution for this.

This list (debian-ppc64-devel) should be the correct place to report
ppc64 specific problems. A bug report with non-RC severity to the
respective package in the BTS may also be possible for ppc64 issues.

In the case of ppc64 kernel related problems like this one it is 
currently best to send bug reports to this list only.
