[cc'ing the xml-sgml mailing list. I read it as well as linuxdoc-tools, no
need to explicitly mail me ]

I made some of the recent NMU and would like to keep taking care of this
package, preferrably along with other people if current maintainer resigns.
linuxdoc-tools has a reasonable popcon status and is still used by people
and at the LDP as a simple alternative for non complex documents, so I
think it is an useful package and would be a pity to lose it.

My changes were mostly in the perl filters and that is what I know better,
but I have little C skills and the package has some C programs, and also
have no experience at all with the DTD stuff. That is why I am cc'ing the
Debian xml/sgml mailing list, in case some other people is interested in
this package and also because sounds resonable to put this package under
the sgml group control, even if current maintainer wants to continue.

The bad news are that there is no upstream. The good news are that the
package is stable, seems to have no major problems, so should not be a
maintenance problem.
