SYSTINET GA RELEEASE FOR WASP SERVER FOR JAVA, 4.7
WASP Provides Unrivalled, Validated Support for XML Schemas, Fully Integrated
Security and Load Balancing
CAMBRIDGE, MASS., January 20, 2004 – Systinet, the leading independent Web
services software company, today announced the availability of Systinet WASP
Server for Java, 4.7, the award-winning Web services infrastructure platform
that provides a complete solution for developing and deploying enterprise Web
services applications. WASP Server for Java, 4.7 makes it possible, for the
first time, to deploy Web services in critical business projects that demand
proven reliability and security and that require seamless integration at both
the application and data levels.
NEW FEATURES IN 4.7
Systinet WASP (Web Applications and Services Platform) Server for Java, 4.7 is a
modular, easy-to-use, high-performance Web services runtime environment for
creating, deploying and managing Web services in Java and J2EE applications. New
features in the 4.7 release include:
• Industry’s Strongest Support for Data Integration Using XML Schema
Using WASP’s highly flexible serialization engine, users can map any Java type
to the selected XML Schema, and vise-versa. WASP supports all XML Schema types,
and has fully verified and tested support for the following widely-used
industry-specific XML Schema:
*FpML (Financial products Markup Language): The industry-standard protocol for
complex financial products. WASP supports all versions of the schema;
*OFX (Open Financial Exchange): Simplifies the exchange of financial data
between consumers and small businesses, enabling transactional, permissive, data
feed driven Web sites, thin clients and personal financial software. WASP
supports the latest version 2.0.1 of the specification;
*ACORD: Develops and maintains various electronic standards for the insurance,
reinsurance and related financial services industries. ACORD Standards encompass
Life & Annuity, Property & Casualty and Reinsurance industry segments. Systinet
WASP supports the full suite of ACORD XML Schema;
*Parlay: Developed for the telecommunication industry, Parlay and the Parlay-X
Web Services specification are fully supported by WASP; and
*HL7: With over 2,000 members drawn from the healthcare industry, HL7 has
created a comprehensive framework and related standards for the exchange,
integration, sharing, and retrieval of electronic health information that
supports clinical practice and the management, delivery and evaluation of health
services. WASP supports all HL7 XML Schema.
• Integrated Security with J2EE Application Servers
Systinet WASP’s multi-mechanism security framework supports a wide variety of
encryption, authorization and authentication systems. Systinet WASP Server for
Java, 4.7 also offers new features designed specifically for enterprise
deployments, including the ability to integrate more closely with the existing
security infrastructure of any supported J2EE Application Server. Supported
platforms include BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, and Sun ONE Application Server,
among others. WASP can share security identity definitions with the J2EE server,
so the same identities are used for access control with both J2EE components and
Web services.
• Integrated Load Balancing with Cisco Local Director and J2EE Application Servers
For applications that demand high reliability, Systinet WASP Server for Java,
4.7 can be clustered using J2EE servers clustering technologies and load
balanced using Cisco LocalDirector or any existing load balancing infrastructure
available for J2EE application servers.
