OASIS Symposium Updates
Submissions to the OASIS Technical Advisory Board from experts on
XML-based messaging and networking standards for a two-day OASIS Symposium
on Reliable Infrastructures for XML are due by 9 February.

OASIS member organizations are encouraged to invite industry partners and
customers to the OASIS Symposium and Member Networking reception which will
be held on Tuesday evening, 27 April. Non-members that attend will have the
Symposium fee applied towards the membership fee. Also, non-member 'guests'
of Sponsor members can attend at the Members-only discounted rate--please
contact the OASIS Membership Director, Scott McGrath, at

OASIS Web Services Security (WSS) TC Approves Committee Drafts
Five documents have been approved as Committee Draft specifications by the
OASIS WSS TC and will be submitted to the OASIS membership at-large for
consideration as OASIS Standards. The Committee Drafts include WSS: SOAP
Message Security 1.0, WSS UsernameToken Profile, WSS X.509 Certificate Token
Profile, and two XML Schemas.

Denmark Becomes First Country to Adopt UBL
The Danish National XML Committee has formally adopted the OASIS Universal
Business Language (UBL) as a standard for e-Commerce in the public sector.
Following a 30-day public hearing, the Danish XML Committee decided to use
UBL 0.7 to enable integration between systems controlled by state
authorities and a newly implemented portal for public procurement.
