1) first of all, did the patch you used apply properly (no "FAILED" error messages in the 'patch' output)?

2) even if yes, can you try this version:

  http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/debian-yeeloong-project/attachments/20111013/1ec25b23/attachment.diff

and see if it solves the segfaults with your patched X.org.
