dpkg --configure packagename/-a
dpkg --audit

(However note if a package is on hold,
Package: midori
Status: hold ok unpacked

(old version installed, new version unpacked)
Then no amount of

# dpkg --configure -a
# dpkg --audit
The following packages have been unpacked but not yet configured.
They must be configured using dpkg --configure or the configure
menu option in dselect for them to work:
 midori               fast, lightweight graphical web browser

short of purging and reinstalling (old version) will fix the status file
in deborphan's eyes.)
