Hello,

My girlfriend pointed me to this new clusty.com search engine.  If you
notice the bar on the left side after you do a search, it looks a bit
like our tags, but automatically generated.

They call it "clustering engine":

  and phrases contained in the search results themselves. This means

Rings a bell.  They don't go faceted, of course, since they need to work
with automatically generated categories: hour hand-crafted
categorization with nice ontologies is producing better results already,
and has a chance of getting nearer to users' points of view and ways of
thinking.

However, searching for "site:packages.debian.org" and browsing the
automated cathegories is indeed an interesting exercise ;-)
