Thanks for the ping.  I've gone ahead and marked it as REJECTED per the
workflow in DEP 0 since I've had no time to pursue it and am unlikely to
have the time in the near future.  I added a note to the top of the DEP
indicating that I still think the ideas are valid if anyone else wants to
pick it up.
