From plessy at debian.org Sun Jan 7 06:56:56 2018 From: plessy at debian.org (Charles Plessy) Date: Sun, 7 Jan 2018 15:56:56 +0900 Subject: [dep-plumbing] Migration of https://alioth.debian.org/projects/dep/ Message-ID: <20180107065656.ijm7coz2zebhfhgu@bubu.plessy.net> Hello everybody, I have been very silent about the DEPs in the past years, partly because of my incapacity to make the ikiwiki integration work again after the last big restructuration of Alioth. But now there is an opportunity for a change :) * First, about the mailing lists. For dep-plumbing (this list), I can ask the creation of a replacement on lists.debian.org. But perhaps the low traffic suggests that we can use debian-project directly instead ? For dep-commits... do we really need it ? If we have DEP 0 as a Git repository on salsa.d.o, people can follow the changes with the RSS feed or by asking to be added to the email-on-push service. * Second, about the Subversion repository. I propose to create a team on salsa.d.o ("dep-team" ? "debian-dep" ?), make the "Debian" group member of that team, with enough rights for creating new projects. Then, I propose to export each DEP that is currently in the Subversion repository as a specific project. Hopefully none of them used features specific from ikiwiki, so they can be rendered as GitLab pages. Then, we would point dep.debian.net to redirect to something like dep.pages.debian.net/dep-team/deps. What do you think about this ? I think a single project for all DEPs should be enough, and let's make it writable by all DDs. In this scenario dep.d.n can point to that project.
