As I stated[0], this isn't just a matter of changing the control file.
There's only one script that supports gpg2 and none that support gpgv2,
where as there are 11 scripts that use gpg and 2 that use gpgv.

Your work in the multitar branch may have fixed one such script to honor
both, but that's not enough to consider gnupg2/gpgv2 a valid alternative
package.

If you want to continue with that work, great, but please also update
the tool descriptions in debian/control and README to reflect the
alternatives.
