Dear maintainers,

mk-origtargz chokes on uncompressed tar archive:

    Parameter ../seq-2.16.tar does not look like a tar archive or a zip file. at /usr/bin/mk-origtargz line 375.
    uscan: error: mk-origtargz --package seq-el --version 2.16 --repack --compression xz --directory .. --copyright-file debian/copyright ../seq-2.16.tar gave error exit status 255

A workaround is to gzip the tarball first, and then mk-origtargz
successfully repacks it with xz compression.
