Thanks for the report and for taking the time to make a patch!  I'm a
little hesitant to apply it as-is without upstream applying it first
(since this is technically a bug in upstream's code, not in the
packaging); do you think that the fix for #807290
(DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nocheck) might be enough for your use case, or is
it important to how you're building/using the package that it runs the
tests?
