I've reread it, and the best summary I can think of is actually what I

I think that's still the case today. Interestingly enough, back in the
days we also discussed source only uploads, with this declared consensus
(and no one objecting back then):

I'm not sure if the override method has been further discussed by
ftp-masters. Paul: any idea about that?
