I can't reproduce the problem (and I did try in a VNC server).

To help me diagnose the problem, it would be great if someone who can
reproduce the problem would reproduce it in gdb. In particular, I am
interested in the Python stack of when the segfault happens. In gdb, it
can be retrieved using the Python gdb helpers:

On Debian, the corresponding file is located in 
/usr/share/doc/python2.6/gdbinit.gz
