strange mysql bug, possibly thread related

I almost have the same problem, since booting into the new kernel 
+libc. It seems mysqld starts, but no client connection is possible.

Also, my amavisd takes a long time to communicate with clamd (doesn't  
time out after even more than 10 minutes).

Looks like a socket problem, but have not yet had time to look into it.

Seems to be related to the latest kernel/libc upgrade, so the cause  
should be relatively easy to find.
