There are a few ways to stop spam.

Based on a recent message:

Message-ID: <20051121100220.27614.qmail at mail.nhgds.com>
X-DNSBL-Warning: (mail.nhgds.com) [58.180.197.20]:33003 is listed in DNSBL
    sbl.spamhaus.org
X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.0.4 (2005-06-05) on haydn.debian.org
X-Spam-Level: ***
X-Spam-Status: No, score=3.9 required=5.0 tests=NO_REAL_NAME,PLING_QUERY,
    SUBJ_ILLEGAL_CHARS autolearn=no version=3.0.4

To prevent a message like this to propagate to the list:
Either

a) the score of NO_REAL_NAME, PLING_QUERY or SUBJ_ILLEGAL_CHARS
is increased by 1.1 points to reach 5.0.

b) The default threshold of 5.0 is decreased to 3.9.

c) A combination of a) and b)

d) Some positive score is assigned to messages in sbl.spamhaus.org, combined
with a), b) and/or c).

e) Messages coming from IPs in the SBL are rejected at SMTP time. If this
is done, it would be a bad idea not to reject messages in the XBL as well.

If somebody wants to forward this to the alioth listmasters (I don't
know for sure who they are), feel free.
