I agree that encrypting it is overkill. If you can actually spy on the USB bus, then your system is pretty much compromised anyway.

As for the Wikipedia entry, just update the version to 1.0.1? It already says ~ 640 KBit (it says 0.6 MBit, I'm guessing the precision is just too low for those extra 40 KBit).
