Good to know.  Thank you for sharing this.

In the commit e5891a82 (after 2.1.6), I fixed the prefix 0x40
handling for scdaemon.  This changed the computation of KEYGRIP.

If you write something in ~/.gnupg/sshcontrol <= 2.1.6, it was
changed.

~/.gnupg/sshcontrol is only needed for non-smartcard keys.  smartcard
keys are handled dynamically.
