This was probably my fault - I put ServerDefaultEncoding to Gophernicus a while ago (year-two) to tell the client which charset to expect in served documents by default.

I have “US-ASCII” because my install of Gophernicus is set up like that, but the server supports UTF-8 too (clients don’t, usually):
