Hi Alex,

Thanks for reaching out.  This is definitely a known problem with the
Let's Encrypt package; unfortunately, the letsencrypt-renewer script as
it stands is scheduled to be removed completely, as it hasn't worked for
a couple of releases.

The Debian maintainers are coordinating with the Let's Encrypt upstream
team on working out a mechanism to automate renewal.  Currently, they're
aiming for having a solution in either the 0.4.0 release next week, or
failing that, the 0.5.0 release in the next few weeks.
