Patch merge request

[Mildred Ki'Lya]

Hi,

I would like to include those patchs on the stable branch of the compiler.
Can I ?

The first patch convert CHARACTER from a signed char to an unsigned
char. So ASCII code is in range 0..255 and NOT -128..+127

The second patch add auto import and auto export in various flavours of
STRING to and from NATIVE_ARRAY. It makes binding with C almost
strainghtforward. Where before you had to use a local variable and to
the conversion by hand, you can just skip all of this now.
