Thanks, you pointed me towards the first real difference between the two
systems where it does work on one and not on the other.
I had some issues when creating the user, and apparently it was not
added to the adm group.
This will especially explain why i did not see any SELinux violation: i
don't get such when regular unix file permissions disallow access. ;-)
