I did an "apt-get upgrade" today and beyond others, apt-get tried to
install the following packages:

logcheck-database (1.1.1-13.1woody1)
logcheck (1.1.1-13.1woody1)
mysql-server (3.23.49-8.6)

This is what apt-get upgrade outputted:

After that happend I deinstalled all three packages (not with purge)
und installed the again, but the same happend. This revealed that
mysql, although there is no dependecy, access /etc/logcheck and
therefore an incomplete installation of logcheck seems to break mysql
and due to logcheck depends on logcheck-database, this problem breaks
mysql:

Then I tried to downgrade logcheck-database and logcheck both to the
before installed version 1.1.1-13.1, but the above mentioned error
refused to vanish.

On other machines I had no problems with the upgrade of logcheck and
logcheck-database.

thanks to Alfie this fix is incorporated in woody since summer 2004.
