it's very easy to trigger that condition:
echo "[bla" > /etc/logcheck/ignore.d.workstation/local-test

i guess this bug should be merged with #295560,
demanding of nicer error output when one generates
a faulty regex.

still it would be nice to get the demanded errors file
and your rulefile that is creating the trouble.
