I would fix my hostname problems at the root but you can search for this
block
if [ -z "$FQDN" ]; then
    HOSTNAME=3D"$(hostname --short)"
else
    HOSTNAME=3D"$(hostname --fqdn)"
fi

in /usr/sbin/logcheck and set
HOSTNAME=3D"bad.wuergaround.local"

after this if else block.
