Ok, I tried merging the branches and I think we've merged some of the
underlying test suite stuff, so it gets a bit messed up. Rather than
me picking this apart, presumably you understand it better and could
merge it quicker? Of course, a ChangeLog entry would be great, but
your commit message explains a lot of it.
