Redundancy is beneficial unless it brings confusion without necessity.

;-)  github people are very smart -- little github has grown into a
giant in no time.  But unless bought out by some monster who doesn't
give a damn about open-source, I do not expect github to disappear
from the throne of the best open-source development portal.
