even a month would be ok ;) do not worry and do not feel rushed.
We are not bored either ;) But the later we see the code, later we
could progress forward with its packaging etc.... just keep that in mind

yes -- every "binary" Debian package gets accompanied with a source
package, containing your sources + debian packaging materials

whatever fits your needs the best. BUT if there are no real
show-stoppers (like embedded code which is borrowed from projects/books
under non GPL-compatible licenses, e.g. Numerical Recepies), then I
would recommend to actually start from "code sharing and version
control". Getting acquainted with it, and who knows, may be someone
decides to contribute, might help you on the way of your first release.
If your concern is of a kind "my code is ugly", then do not worry --
noone's code is perfect at once, and noone, trust me, would make fun of
you etc. The worst which would happen, someone tries to use it, gets
problems, but remains persistent enough and later on sends you a bulk of
patches ;)

well - my objective is to get it packaged for Debian. You are welcome
to research basic packaging introductions, such as

cool.
soon we will compose some kind of "Summary" on what we see as a possible
roadmap for "Electrophysiology in Debian" and post it there...
Stay in touch,
