Initial Comment:
3 patches for a CentOS 4.5 machine.

/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit.patch - startup script. This patch removes any /etc/killpower that may be left from the last powerdown.

/etc/init.d/halt - powerdown script. This patch is an update on the existing patch - which is quite old.

/etc/sysconfig/ups - what I use. Might be a useful example to someone.

I am happy to help maintain these.

The right place to fix this seems to be with the packager. If you have any further problems with the RPM packages, please file a bug with CentOS and/or RedHat. See this thread for details:
