Initial Comment:
I'm new to NUT and I'm pretty sure I have everything working. I just can't seem to figure out why I've always got a "No battery installed!" alarm.
When I lose power the battery functions for the expected length of time and maintains power until the shutdown occurs.
I'm also getting a reported battery.charge of 0 or 100. nothing between those values.

I'm running  FreeBSD 8.1-STABLE-201008

Message:
I would be surprised if the battery.charge value would go to 100 if there was a scaling issue. We would want to see the debug output of the driver to figure out what is being read from the device. See Arnaud's comment from 2011-09-16.

Message:
The "no battery installed" issue was fixed by Arjen (r2516, available in 2.6.0).

The remaining point is battery.charge, which is probably related to your (Charles) work on value scaling.

Hi Scott,

sorry for the lag, our preferred support way is through the mailing list...

can you please try the latest NUT version (2.6.2)?
if your issue still occurs, can you try the following, after having stopped NUT:
- start the driver in debug mode using:
$ /path/to/usbhid-ups -DDDDD -a upsname

and send us back the output.

cheers,
Arnaud
