the right names are 
+	{ "ambient.1.humidity",		'H',	APC_POLL|APC_F_PERCENT },
+	{ "ambient.1.temperature",	'T',	APC_POLL|APC_F_CELSIUS },

I'm a bit reluctant to touch apc_compattab...

attached is a patch from Stephen.

the integration into the data tree should be indexed based (like for the outlets), ie:
ambient.1.humidity
...
ambient.1.humidity

the only remaining point is wether to map ambient.{humidity,...} on ambient.1.{humidity,...}
