I have no experience killing daemons, sorry, but I'd like to point out
that my building environment is not anything special:

I'm using sbuild, and that's all.

This is essentially the same program which is used in the official
autobuilders, so if something makes sbuild to hang, it could in theory
make the official autobuilders to hang too.

So, to summarize: To reproduce this failure, please try sbuild :-)
