Danny,

I think that in this instance Debian is a special case. It's upstream code that most certainly can be configured to be OpenStack Powered. I think we're ok to assign 2017.01 against a Newton release. The running code has most certainly passed full Tempest tests at some point.

Hi Danny,

As you may know, my contract with Mirantis ended in late 2016. As a
consequence, I do not have the hardware to run tempest tests anymore.
However, OpenStack Newton, which is in Debian Stretch, was validated
against tempest. These tests were running with all the core projects of
OpenStack. I can unfortunately only tell you about it, and not show you
the actual logs in Jenkins.

Also, Newton is currently the only version we have available in Debian.
We are actively working on packaging Pike, but it is far from being ready.

Debian and OpenStack are very important to me, and I do not want Debian
to loose its "OpenStack powered" stamp. It took too much effort to have
it. What do you suggest then?

First and foremost, we would like to thank you for participating in the OpenStack Powered Marketplace. We have been incredibly happy with the quality and diversity of the products that have been certified under this program, and look forward to working with you in building out our new updates, vertical programs, and extension programs to the Marketplace. 

Moving toward the OpenStack Summit Sydney we want to ensure that products in the Marketplace are up to date in time for the event. As part of our review, we are now asking vendors whose licenses are past or nearing expiration to submit updated interop test results, as required by the OpenStack Powered license agreement. The sooner you can get those results submitted, the better. In mid-October, we will begin begin revoking lapsed licenses and removing the OpenStack Powered logo from those products in the Marketplace. The easiest way to extend your license is to submit a new set of test results against one of the two most recent guidelines (“2017.01" and “2017.09").
