However, pbuilder is mostly noninteractive already, so that
point is moot.

The difference is that pbuilder is more likely to use 
local apt archives as custom apt repository, and 
doesn't really need the overhead of authentication
in that case.



It would, however, be nice to be able to allow authentication if 
only authenticated archives are being used. That only requires 
gpg package to be installed.
