[Pbuilder-maint] Bug#358255: Make pbuilder fail with a meaningful error when .changes file is used instead of .dsc

Package: pbuilder
Version: 0.150
Severity: wishlist

Please add a check to pbuilder to make it recognize if the .changes file is
used instead of the .dsc file in the "pbuilder build <file>" command and fail
with a meaningful warning.

Thank you,

Alex.

P.S.: Yes, I did foolishly try to build using the .changes file and, of
course, pbuilder was trying to use the package category "web" or "graphics" or
whatever I was building as a file name and failed with a message like this:

...
    -> copying [./web]
cp: cannot stat `./web': No such file or directory
    -> Aborting with an error
...
