pbuilder git tree: Changes to 'master'

 I tested these two with the pbuilder and pdebuild frontends, with .dsc
 and package tree, and with two --debbuildopts or three with one
 resetting the list to empty in the middle.  Seemed to work fine, but
 it's wide-ranging so would be happy if others could verify everything
 works as expected.
