Bug#810598: cannot stat ./net - and aborts

My little pbuilder setup for backports tasks has been working for years
and now that, see below. I have no idea what it wants to do with ./net
or what I need to do to make it available (do I?) and the docs don't
help at all.

$ pbuilder build --basetgz /var/cache/pbuilder/base-amd64-jessie.tgz --distribution jessie apt-cacher-ng_0.8.8-1~bpo8+1_amd64.changes
