Subject: [Pkg-ace-devel] I need Your Love !
Message-ID: <2004105071.6314.qmail@hotmail.com>
Hello, dear Mark !
Congratulations with the new day, with the new OUR day,
with the day which you will become a dream that suddenly comes true. It's
a day of preparation to our happiness! I felicitate you with me, with our
love, with our happiness that comes true thanks the strength of two hearts!
Let the foretaste not obscure the delight, and the concern for each other
not turn into something different! I sincerely hope for our unity...
forever...
We shall rush for our dreams, make them come true and
understand each other the same way, forgive trifles and love... Sweety,
it's a great happiness for me to love you, love you with all my heart, to
give way to passion, to follow the movements of my heart and feel your
heartbeat in my hands...
Darling, I love you, and my love grows, grows up every
day, especially after the period of hard times, exertion and struggle.
Sunny, I love you and this love makes me perform many thoughtless actions;
it grows sometimes running before itself, and thus appear some "obstacles"?
fears. Kitty, I love you, I want to be yours... ever... YOURS... ever...
Don't be afraid: fear kills the soul. I'll be with you
always , I'll be only with you, wherever you go, whenever you come... Dear,
the strength you give me, the love you present me will defeat all negative
in our lives and...
There only be we, our WE!
Kisses, Your Maria.

Subject: [Pkg-ace-devel] Fraud messages spread over E-Gold users !
Message-ID: <20041031370.11875.qmail@e-gold.com>
Dear E-Gold User!
Net scammers under the name of E-Gold users send many fraud messages!
PLEASE BE ADVISED E-GOLD WILL NEVER SEND YOU AN HTML EMAIL WITH A HYPERTEXT
LINK ASKING YOU TO CLICK ON THE LINK TO ACCESS YOUR ACCOUNT!
There are numerous fraudulent emails in circulation spoofing e-mail
addresses in the e-gold.com domain. These emails direct you to
log into your account to verify information or update information
and they usually operate on greed or fear in order to entice victims
to click a hypertext link.
These emails may say your account has a value limit, you have
received fraudulent funds, your account will be closed for inactivity,
or that e-gold is paying monthly interest payments.
Regardless of the subject line of the fraudulent emails, they always
have one thing in common. The hypertext link in the email will appear
to be to the e-gold website, but if clicked, it directs the victim
to a fraudulent website, designed to ensnare the careless by mimicking
the appearance of the real e-gold website. The technique used to
obscure the true destination of such hypertext links is via the
use of HTML formatted e-mail.
The ultimate goal of the criminal is to entice his victims to enter
their e-gold account number and passphrase while on the fraudulent
website. Once the criminal has gained this information, he has
everything he needs to log in to the victim's e-gold account
on the real e-gold website and divert the value.
We urge Users to:
1 Never click hypertext links in HTML formatted e-mail to access your account.
2 Confirm that you are on the e-gold website before entering your e-gold
passphrase into either a logon form or a payment authorization form
(see note below about e-gold shopping cart interface):
- Verify the address/location/URL starts with: https://www.e-gold.com/
- Verify the site is secure (look at the SSL Lock icon at the bottom of your browser window)
- Verify that the site certificate is issued by VeriSign to www.e-gold.com
E-Gold Shopping Cart Interface (SCI)
Merchant sites using the e-gold SCI will pass you to the e-gold website
at checkout to authorize payment. The e-gold SCI will pass you back to
the Merchant's site after you have received confirmation of your e-gold
Spend. All of the above criteria for verifying you are on the e-gold
website also apply to Spends made via the e-gold SCI.

FROM THE DESK OF OLU JACOBS
E-mail:olujabc@yahoo.co.in
Dear Friend,
First I will like you to take your time to go over this mail carefully and
with patience. Please, this is a matter of urgency, this is because I need
your help and I need it very quickly too.
At this stage I will like to introduce my self. I am Dr. Olu Jacobs. I am 51
years old, a Nigerian.Today I am formally retired as the personal
accountant to the late head of state of this country Late General. Sani
Abacha. Since his demise things have never been the same for us who served
under his regime. I cannot leave the country for now because the present
government is still investigating huge amounts of funds embezzled by the
Late Head of State and remains hostile to his family and properties.
Shortly before his death the Ge neral gave me a very huge amount of money to
be transfered to an off-shore Security Company abroad and this I did with
the help of his eldest son Mohammed Abacha who was recently released from
detention for human rights violations. In any case the funds was
successfully transfered and it is currently in a safe deposit abroad. All
the papers to legally claim the funds is with my attorney for security
porposes and the amount involved in this transfer is US$30,000,000.00
(Thirty Million Dollars).
The present government of my country has so far recovered most of the funds
transfered by the Late General but they do not and will not have access to
this one. This is because the funds is not in a bank like the others already
recovered but rather, in a security company and all documents relating to
it's existence completely unknown except by me.
I have thought about this and I have decided to invest this funds
abroad, preferably in your be autiful country and later settle with my family
there when all this is over. However, for now I sincerly want your help in
the area of investment opportunities in you country. In Research, Real
estate and properties, computers and other things that will bring real
returns for my investment worth.
Please, can you help me by recieving the funds as the beneficiary?. There is
no risk involved as the funds is already out of Nigeria. All you need is
just the papers to put forward before the Security company and the funds
will be released to you promptly. These papers I am ready to send to you as
soon as I hear from you with personal information about your self.
Please, be informed that you will be compensated with 30% of the funds
upon collection if you agree to help me, and the rest we can put into
business.
I await your urgent response. I will fill you in with more information when
I have heard from you. Please do furnish me with your phone and fax nu mbers
when responding.
Thanks and God bless you as I look forward to your favourable reply.
Yours sincerly,
Dr.Olu Jacobs

Hello all,
I've made simple changes to the current ACE packages so that:
- bug#242881 is marked as closed (it was actually fixed in 5.4.2.1-1).
- there are no .o or empty .depend files in the *-doc packages.
- the new bug#277052 is fixed.
The new patches layout on the website is:

Hi all, some notes on reactor seperation with ACE and TAO I'm
working on (http://deuce.doc.wustl.edu/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1854).
The reactor seperation is finished for 5.4.0.1. All files can be
downloaded at http://einstein.speech-design.de/ftppub/debian-speechdesign/pool/main/a/ace/
for PowerPC. I will compile them for i386 as soon as possible. It
should not be a problem anyway. Here a list of new packages:
libace-flreactor-dev, libace-flreactor5.4
libace-qtreactor-dev, libace-qtreactor5.4
libace-tkreactor-dev, libace-tkreactor5.4
libace-xtreactor-dev, libace-xtreactor5.4
libtao-qtreactor-dev, libtao-qtreactor1.4
libtao-xtreactor-dev, libtao-xtreactor1.4
As next I will spent some time on two other project I'm contributing too.
I think I can continue with ACE 5.4.2 next week or so.
How far is the usage of dpatch ? I would like to see a documented patch
management while contributing. I used for the stable version dpatch too
and do not like to do anythink else in the future for a such a complex
package.

Hi Thomas, Raphael (including you in the list, i don't remember if you
are in the pkg-ace-devel list)
Sorry for the delay, terribly busy month...
Ok, I agree with Raphael that we should probably move to a dpatch
system, though I don't have any experience with it, how do we move to
a dpatch approach? Brian uses dpatch, but I have the impression that
he's even more busy than I am :-)
I'd really like to incorporate Raphael's reactor separation
implementation (congratulations by the way :-) and we still have time
to push for a new upload before sarge, but I have to say I can't work
as much as I would like, I also work on d-i and -like everyone else-
also have to survive :-)
So, Raphael, do you think it is doable to go for dpatch for all
patches (those from Thomas, you, Brian and myself) in the short
amount of time we have (imho, almost less than a month before sarge
freeze) and release a working version also with the reactor
separation stuff? A short howto would be excellent...
Regards
Konstantinos

Okay, if we all agree, I can learn how to use dpatch and change the
ongoing 5.4.2.1-2 packages so that they rely on dpatch before the end of
the week. That way, Raphael could continue its reactor separation next
week or so.
Are you fine with this ?

There are to possibilities to achieve this:
1) I will rewrite the ACE packages for dpatch
1.1) You sort all patches in the right order 01-*, 02-*, 03-* etc. and
the same patch level (-p1).
1.2) Make them public so I can download them. Maybe a email attachment
will work too.
1.3) Make the used source package available. Or can I use the latest
beta kit from http://deuce.doc.wustl.edu/ACE+TAO+CIAO.tar.gz
(This is ACE version 5.4.2, released Sat Jul 31 11:13:20 2004.)
1.4) I will incorporate the patches for dpatch and make them available
for the public.
1.5) The work on reactor seperation will started then.
2) Install the http://packages.debian.org/dpatch package and refer to
the /usr/share/doc/dpatch/README.gz file. This is a nice introduction
to dpatch. It's easy to understand.

Subject: [Pkg-ace-devel] Switching to dpatch
Message-ID: <4178C5F3.9050400@free.fr>
Hi Raphael,
I had not enough time this week to switch the existing packages to
dpatch, and I won't be able to work on this until monday.
However, I had a quick look at how dpatch works, and how you have
modified debian/rules to use it (using sources from [1]).
Here are a few notes about what I've understood:
1. The .orig.tar.gz contains only the upstream tarball. The .diff.gz
contains only the debian/ directory and a patches/ subdirectory
that will be managed by dpatch.
2. The upstream tarball gets decompressed when building the package,
thus creating an ACE_wrappers subdirectory, so many debian
files had to be changed to use this new root for location of
sources. The debian/rules then applies all the patches from
patches/
3. debian/rules was modified to use debian.features, a new file you
wrote that:
- is used by MPC to regenerate all GNUmakefile if needed (target
build-mwc).
- is used as a base for platform_macros.GNU
The regeneration of all GNUmakefile by MPC is a very long
operation, so you have chosen to save the diff of the generated
GNUmakefiles into 20-reactors-makefiles.dpatch.
If anything here is wrong, please let me know.
Now, I have two questions :
1. Do you know why 20-reactors-makefiles.dpatch is so big (40 Mb) ?
2. Your previous modifications to debian/rules to have make pass
-DACE_NDEBUG -DACE_USE_RCSID to cpp were removed. Is this
intentional ?
Also, debian.features has rwho=1, while it is not being built AFAIK.
If my analysis of how you're using dpatch and MPC is not completely
wrong, and if you are busy at the beginning of the next week, I'm still
okay to port these changes myself. Otherwise, you may need this
information (answering your mail with two options):
1.1) I've been using quilt so far to manage patches. Changes to dpatch
is quite straightforward.
1.2) I've made a preliminary conversion to dpatch. They are available at
http://thomas.g.girard.free.fr/ace/dpatch but need rework. Indeed,
some of them could be folded, and they need to be renumbered:
third patch is debian.diff.
1.3) The source used is a slightly modified version of the latest beta
kit to have correct timestamps. It is available from the Debian
package page for ACE.
Thanks,
Thomas

I'll start at once with that issue. ACE is now prio1 on my TODO list.

All points are right.
> Now, I have two questions :
> 1. Do you know why 20-reactors-makefiles.dpatch is so big (40 Mb) ?
I did not count the number of generated GNUmakefiles but there are many.
Those GNUmakefiles are also not too small. I think they consume a lot.

Yes, until we have -dbg packages. I prefer to have ACE packages with
debug information instead of need to recompile ACE again for development
purposes later.
I think we need support for -dbg packages.

Yes. I tried to test my MPC modifications with all options I know.

I don't think the ftp admins will allow that.

Hi folks,
here a short update on reactor seperation for 5.4.2.1. Thinks going well.
I could switch to dpatch without any big troubles. My debian build process
works fine. Reactor libraries are created :)
I could not test the results because I'm fighting with the whole build
process. There seams to be a production bug with TAO/CIAO/DAnCE. I'm not
sure if but make stops with missing 'cidlc'.
Please replay to me if someone is interested in this temporary version
for a review.

the best solution for now and future releases of ACE. We do not have carry
about the Makefiles. We have only to set debian/config/debian.features
right. The rest is done by `update-makefile' target in debian/rules.

Yes, I do.
I compile with tests and examples to see if all Makefiles are generated and
no project is forgotten by my reactor seperation.

Does ACE_QtReactor lacks a destructor or a virtual method it was

Now a question. Is there a intention for pkg-config support ? Until now
only the ACE Makefiles can be used as reference von compiler options. For
somebody who uses GNU AutoTools pkg-config would be helpful to get all
required compiler/linker options.

Great.

These would replace {ace,too}-config, right ? Since I'm using MPC, I
have never used these scripts. Will reactor separation make their use
mandatory ?
An issue that could be raised by switching to pkg-config is that
pkg-config is released under the GPL, while ACE+TAO use a BSD-like
license. This is not a problem by itself, but the mandatory use of
pkg-config would prevent using ACE+TAO packages in a commercial product.
What do you think about this ?
Thanks,
Thomas

Hmm. A new bug occured in the meantime. The order of generating sources
IDL does not match for ACE_wrappers/TAO/orbserver/orbserver/CossEvent.mpc.
> These would replace {ace,too}-config, right ?
It can replace {ace,tao}-config. Consider that these files are not generated
if MPC is used. Only if ./configure is started this files are created.
> Since I'm using MPC, I have never used these scripts.
Sure. For MPC there is no sence for pkg-config support.
> Will reactor separation make their use mandatory ?
No.

The license is against the pkg-config sources. We will create *.pc
files for ACE/TAO/CIAO etc. under BSD. This is not license violation
of pkg-config itself (I'm not a lawyer).

It's an alternative solution for {ace,tao}-config where ./configure is
not used.

What do you mean ? The regenerated GNUmakefile for CosEvent after
regeneration with MPC is broken ? Can you provide me with up-to-date
dpatches and debian/rules, so that I can have a look ?
With regard to pkg-config, I think that's a very good idea. Do you think
it will take long ? If so, we could probably delay this change a bit so
that 5.4.2.1-2 packages, with Reactor separation and no annoying .o
files, get a chance to hit Sarge.

Yes. In ACE_wrappers/TAO/orbsvcs/orbsvcs/ec_typed_events.mpb is the
rules for CosTypedEventComm.idl. CosTypedEventComm.idl itself include
CosEventComm.idl. The IDL compiler converts this to CosTypedEventC.h
which does not exists at this point. The buildlog12 is also in the
directory:

To get things working for Sarge is my intention and highest priority.
