[Pkg-ace-devel] YARP built on ACE

Hi Marek,

Nice to meet a fellow roboticist. :-)

YARP is especially useful for modular robots. Those robots are individual
robot modules that form together a robot organism. YARP allows *on-the-fly
reconfiguration* of communication channels between those robots and their
software components. A component does not need to know which other component
to connect to, in other words it supports exogenous coordination. Moreover,
it can be used as in Player/Stage to communicate with a simulator in a
transparent way. I really hope it will become the new standard in robotics.
It is already used by many projects, see e.g. http://www.icub.org/

Kind regards,

Anne
