It seems to require some work again; generated .pc files have incorrect
includedir, lack version and a @LIBS@ remains. A good test would be to
try recompiling diagnostics with the newly built ACE packages to see if
it works.

I'll have a look at this on sunday evening unless you can beat me to it.
