I'd prefer if we kept those transitioning packages for some more time

Rationale:
- Ubuntu is based on Debian and is one of the most popular Linux distributions
- Ubuntu releases a Long Term Support version every 3 years (roughly)
- Corporate users, especially on servers, usually upgrade only from
LTS to LTS. The next Ubuntu LTS will probably be released in April
2012.
- The latest Ubuntu LTS (10.04, AKA "Lucid Lynx") contains ACE 5.6.3-6
- Some of the transitioning packages contain stuff for gperf-ace,
libace-dev, etc << 5.7.7, which means it affects the latest Ubuntu LTS

We are not Ubuntu and do not have an obligation, but IMHO keeping the
transitioning stuff does not impact negatively in our packaging
efforts and it will make life easier for Ubuntu in the next upgrade

I'll try to look into that this weekend.
