I don't really understand what you mean.
When you say "build on trunk" are you talking about ACE or about Debian-ACE?
The "hardening" is just adding a few flags to the compiler and linker.
I have built ACE 6.0.1-1 with hardening flags and there are no
apparent errors on building. I have modified ACE-DPKG.mwc and
TAO-DPKG.mwc to build tests (it fails at a given point) and run all
the tests that built fine, then compared the logs for a build with
hardening flags and for a build without and I see no additional errors
in the build with hardening flags.
