  a. repacking is needed (see [1]).
  b. TAO cannot be included as is because of some non free stuff.

Yes, 6.1.2 suffers from the very same issues. These were not fixed on 
6.1.2 because this version was uploaded before the bug report.

Adding TAO back is a non trivial task because it means adding it a 
separate tarball with both non-free (tao_idl) and contrib packages, 
depending on ACE.

I agree that updating ACE is needed but this is AFAIK a separate need 
from preventing the package from being removed of testing because it 
FTBFS with g++ 4.9. Might be easier to build a 6.0.3+dfsg-1 fixing the 
FTBS, then polish the transition to split ace+tao packages, don't you think?
