Oh, indeed. After excluding the debian mirror and the home directories
it now completes in a somewhat reasonable time.

Maybe adding a small additional sentence to the NEWS.Debian about the
fact that aide will run significantly longer now (especially in the
default configuration) might be a good idea?

Feel free to close the bug report either way though.
