that's what i supposed, but that was not the case with etch ...

i try again with this

# begin=`date`;time /usr/bin/aide.wrapper -i; echo "time $begin -> "`date`
[...]
real    650m58.908s
user    169m3.210s
sys     104m51.629s
time samedi 25 avril 2009, 06:40:42 (UTC+0200) -> samedi 25 avril 2009,
17:31:41 (UTC+0200)

what's strange about file size is the result is 10B only ... but during
aide processing it goes up to 128KB.

(after init)
$ ls -lh /var/lib/aide/
total 1,7M
-rw------- 1 root root  75K avr 26 06:25 aide.conf.autogenerated
-rw------- 1 root root   10 avr 13 09:44 aide.db
-rw------- 1 root root   10 avr 13 09:43 aide.db.20090413
-rw------- 1 root root   10 avr 26 06:25 aide.db.new
-rw------- 1 root root   10 avr 25 06:25 aide.db.new.t1
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1,7M avr 21 11:06 magic.mgc

$ sudo hexdump /var/lib/aide/aide.db.new
0000000 8b1f 0008 0000 0000 0302
000000a

and it's only md5 as checksum ...

best regards
