[Pkg-allegro-maintainers] Can I take over maintenance of KQ?

I would like to take over maintenance of the KQ packages. I'm an
administrator for the project upstream. The Debian packages have not
been updated in almost 3 years, and most of the bug reports we get are
from the Debian or Ubuntu packages that are already fixed in the
latest stable version.

I am not a Debian Developer; I'm going to ask my sponsor if he will
sponsor me for this package.

Are there any objections to me taking over the KQ packages?
